Join Baldwin-Whitehall School District, emcee Jason Pinkston former offensive guard with the Cleveland Browns, community first responders, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and other community members for an evening of education about Opioid abuse warning signs, prevention, and treatment. Dr. C. Thomas Brophy’s presentations helps the audience understand the basics of what opiates are, where they come from, as well as how they work in the body and the brain, what happens over time and why addicts behave abnormally. First responders will share data on the impact of the opioid epidemic in our communities. You will hear first-hand how this epidemic has affected local families. The evening will conclude with a message of hope as one of our alumni shares her journey to recovery. Awareness and education are the key to helping to combat this epidemic and save lives in our community.
Free childcare for the event is available upon request. The Town Hall Meeting will be held Wednesday, May 16th from 6:30-9pm at Baldwin Whitehall High School.
