Military Funeral Honors
It is our privilege to provide military funeral honors to every eligible veteran when requested by the family. This includes folding and presenting of the United States burial flag and the playing of Taps. The law also defines a military honors detail as consisting of two or more uniformed military persons with at least one member of the veteran’s parent service of the armed forces.
Our funeral directors will arrange all aspects of military funeral honors on behalf of the veteran’s family, including, if requested, arrangements at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
In order to receive military honors, the family will need to provide, at the time of death, a discharge or separation papers other than dishonorable. If you have a military discharge, we urge you to keep it in a convenient location, with a copy on file at the funeral home. If discharge papers are not available, we can help you receive one; however, it can delay the process.
