My heart aches for you as you begin a new, lonely journey in your lives. Let the love of your families and friends embrace and lift you up — you are not alone. There are many around you sending love and energy to sustain you when you are hurting. Breathe – feel our arms around you trying to ease your pain. Be good to yourselves; make the time to sleep ant eat. You are so loved, Rick and Marie!. Ricky is dearly loved. And Ricky dearly loved you, too.

I promise the time will come when you discover the big, empty whole in your heart that takes your breathe every time you think of Ricky ISN’T empty after all. Ricky is still with you, still in your heart, still in my heart, too. I loved watching Ricky grow up. I loved seeing the love of Rick, Marie and Ricky celebrating the New Year at the Sirockman parties. Please, it would be at all helpful to talk with Gene and me, we would love to reassure you, you can get through this week, and the next. You will find your true angels hovering in the background, giving you peace.

  51. Alice

My sincere condolences to Marie and William, it is hard enough to try to put into words the emotions you are dealing with right now. True comfort can only be found by knowing the true Creator. Knowing that He hates death: he even views it as an enemy.(1 Corinthian 15:26) He has “a yearning” to conquer that enemy, to undo death by means of the resurrection. He longs to bring back those who are in his memory and to see them live on earth again-Job 14:14,15. And for the mean time“ He heals the brokenhearted; He binds up their wounds.”(Psalms 147:3). So trust that He can comfort you.

  52. Michelle Buzzelli

I was also lucky enough to have Ricky as an intern at Alcoa. He worked hard and he was always up for clowning around. My company recently moved its office down to Station Square and I noticed Ricky in passing a few times, but I never got a chance to say hello. Rest in Peace Ricky. Thank you for all of your help.

  79. Kyle Murphy

In instant messaging, his status commonly read, “Ready like Spaghetti!”…

Coworkers can be frustrating at times. With that apprehension I introduced myself to Ricky in the manner of his status – “Spaghetti! I have a question for you!” My waiting was short lived. He replied friendly, humorously, and with cheerful assistance. A friendship grew and he’d address me in the language of my youth – “My man, can you do this for me?” “My man, what’s going on?” With every request, I’d gladly return the favor. I regret that I no longer have the opportunity to meet him face to face, to shake his hand, and to ask him the origins of his 70’s cool. I was stunned by his passing and saddened for your great loss. There’s a familiar saying: “For a man to have friends, he must first show himself friendly.”

There is truth in those words, “My Man” Ricky had many friends.

  80. Don Rebel

My deepest sympathies to both the Walker family and the Buzzelli family at this very sad time. Hopefully my prayers and those of others will begin to heal the real hurt that you guys feel. RIP Ricky!

  81. Kay Falkenhan

    Marie and Rick,
As I stood in line at the funeral home, as I sat quietly near the back of St. E’s Church on Saturday, I realized just how many lives Ricky and the two of you have touched. In the rawness of your grief, I am not sure that is of any comfort but…as Father said…with time and perspective you may.
He was deeply loved. You are deeply loved.
Please let me know when the scholarship has been established; it is a fitting way to remember a very special young man.
As someone who also lost a child…but who cannot begin to imagine your pain…know that time will dull this consuming pain, that you will always, always be his Mom and Dad…and…as Father also said…you will feel his presence when you need it. The bond is not broken.
    Always,
    Kay Falkenhan

  82. Chris Cavendish

Sincere Condolences to the Walkers. I didn’t know Ricky very well but have a fond memory with him.

At central when we were freshmen, Ricky always asked the day after how the baseball games went and how did everyone do. I hadn’t had a hit in baseball yet after several games, but I had got on base by an error. The next day in class, Ricky had asked “did you get a hit yet?” I responded with a confirming “oh yeah” …but then he poked his way right through my answer! Clever guy. His next response was an encouraging “it’s a start! you’ll get it.” And the next game I did and couldn’t wait to tell him.

  83. Ted Bills

I give you my deepest thoughts and sympathy. I am extremely sorry for your loss and my family and I will keep you, your family, and friends in our thoughts and prayers…
