Obituary For AJ Beatty
Age 23, of Bethel Park, passed away unexpectedly on July 14, 2025, in Pittsburgh, PA.
Born on July 11, 2002, in the Brookline neighborhood of Pittsburgh, AJ was a beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson, and friend. A 2020 graduate of Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School, AJ was known for his determination and warmth.
A gifted athlete, AJ was a standout on the football field and earlier in his prep career in lacrosse. At Central Catholic, he was named first-team all-state at defensive end by the Harrisburg Patriot-News and was honored as a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Fab 22 selection. He also earned first-team all-conference honors as a tight end and was a leader on the 2019 WPIAL Championship team. His exceptional performance drew national attention-AJ received over 40 Division I scholarship offers before accepting a full scholarship to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He later transferred and completed his collegiate football career at the University at Albany, where he graduated summa cum laude in 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity.
Dedicated to service, AJ graduated from the Allegheny County Sheriff's Academy in 2025 and proudly served as a Deputy with the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office.
AJ was the cherished son of Aaron and Kim Beatty, loving brother of Maya Beatty (Rob), and adored uncle of Celina. He is also survived by his beloved girlfriend, the love of his life, Ali Sniegocki; his grandmother Janis Rambo; uncle Jim Rambo; cousins Alea and James; and many extended family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kathleen and Bob Baroffio, and his grandfather Jim Rambo.
AJ's smile could light up any room, and his drive and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was so deeply loved and will be forever missed by those who had the honor of knowing him.
Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, PA 15227on Friday, July 18, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held privately.
