Obituary For Anita (Cairns) Welker

Age 88, of Whitehall, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 10, 2025.

Beloved wife of 58 years to the late Albert L. Welker, Jr.; loving mother of Kathy (Greg) Tutsock, David (Denise) Welker, Alan (Jennifer) Welker and Maureen Welker; proud Grandma Nunny of Lauren, Greg Jr., Kristen (Rick) Storino, Christian, Justin, Matthew and Tyler; great-grandmother of Mason Storino; daughter of the late Thomas and Mathilda Cairns; sister of the late Bernadette Kohler, Thomas Cairns, Jr. and Rita Cousin. Also survived by nieces, nephews and their families. Anita loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was the most loving mom who put everyone before herself. She set a wonderful example for her loving family. Anita and Al owned and operated Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream in the Brentwood/Whitehall Shopping Center for over 20 years. During that time, they made lasting friends and memories. No one made and decorated ice cream cakes like Anita. May there be an endless supply of Pralines-n-Cream in Heaven. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. May she also rest in peace with her beloved Al. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 from 3-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Wednesday morning at 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial in Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church at 10:00 a.m. After the Mass time interment will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
