Obituary For Anthony "Tony" Cardillo, Sr.

Of Whitehall, formerly of Spigno Saturnia, Italy, age 86, passed peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, February 2, 2023.

Loving husband of 60 years to Mary DeIuliis; beloved father of Angela (Jeffrey) Baumbach, Anthony, Jr. (Melisa) Cardillo and John (Maribeth) Cardillo; adoring Pap Pap of Marc, Nathan, Emily, A.J. and Gianna; son of the late Pasquale and Finisia Cardillo; brother of Antonietta (the late Paul) Pirollo and the late Delfina (Nicola) Pensiero. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Tony owned and operated Tony's Garage on Mellon Street in East Liberty for 42 years. We know that Tony would like to thank all of his customers for their friendship and loyalty, which allowed him to remain a fixture in the community for all those years. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 and Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Friday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church at 10:00 a.m.

    Sadly, I am just learning of Tony's passing. He took such great care with my cars for over 20 years. He was kind, well-spoken, always fair and considerate. I always knew I could rely on Tony for the best services. Wishing blessings and continued strength to Tony's family. May your memories continue to provide comfort and strength.

    I worked for and with Tony form the 80s till last year. Tony was like a father to me throughout my life, when life would throw me a curveball Tony was a voice of reason. My heart and prayers to the Cardillo family. Rest in peace my friend see you on the other side.

    My memory of Tony lasts over 40 years. He was my boss and like a father to me. He was the kindest and loving man to me. Just spoke to him on the phone 2 weeks ago. I will cherish that conversation. Prayers to Mary and the family.
