Obituary For Arden Reihing

November 21, 1931 - March 14, 2017

Reihing, Arden Age 85, our sweet loving mother, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, of Bethel Park.

Beloved wife of the late John "Jack" Vincent Reihing, Jr.; daughter of the late Carmen and Gerald Hahne; sister of the late William Hahne. Arden is the cherished mother of seven surviving children, Wendy (Wayne) Reuter, Mary Reihing, Barbara (Dan Haines) Schohn, Christopher (Patricia) Reihing, Terri (Mark Zang) Reihing, John (Kathleen) Reihing and Paul (Judy Darling) Reihing. She loved her eleven grandchildren, Dan, Jessica, Michael, Kevin, Matthew, Brianna, Karisa, Joseph, Tanner, Cole, and Lilly, and two great-grandchildren Siena and Rhett. Arden was a kind, gentle soul who loved all things great and small. She loved tap dancing, gardening, water gardens, and created beautiful bonsai trees with her late husband John "Jack". She brought comfort to many senior citizens with her therapy Bernese Mountain Dog named "Buck". Arden was a wonderful loving mother, loyal friend, and trusted confidant. She had the capacity to see the good in everything and everyone. She was truly a special lady. Arden's family welcomes all to come and celebrate her life and share this time with them. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Friday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Gabriel of The Sorrowful Virgin Church at 10:00 am. If desired, family suggests contributions to Western PA Humane Society, 1101 Western Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15233.

Please accept my hugs and prayers. I loved your mom. I visited 2 years ago as my parents left good old Koeffler Drive (Dolly and Tom OConnell) Mrs Reihing and I had a very nice visit. I left feeling like a kid again. I have the BEST memories of that house.....Your mom and the Reihing family are my earliest memories. My thoughts and prayers again and an extra hug to Paul and Mary.
