Obituary For Barbara A. Priore

Age 83, on Friday, September 5, 2025, of Whitehall.

Beloved wife of 63 years to Robert Priore; loving mother of Jeff (Christi Lynn) Priore, Carol (Larry) Froehlich, Kathy Priore, Chrissy (Lance) Harris and Kimmy (Dan) Knezevich; proud grandma of Alex (Stacie) Jones, Megan (JD) Havrilla, Paige Young, Chandler and Carter Harris, Clarissa (Matt) Martin, Anthony, Patrick (Madason), and Stephen Priore, Brad (Megan) Froehlich and Brooke (Jason) Hampsay; loving great-grandma of Kaylin, Sydney, Emma, Parker, Kennedy, Hadley, Hayden, John Robert and John Andrew; daughter of the late Sylvester and Mary Abt; sister of Shirley (the late Don) Wykstra and the late George Abt and Robert Abt; sister-in-law to Michael (Debbie)Priore. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Barbara was a 1959 graduate of Sacred Heart High School. She was a longtime, faithful parishioner of St. Gabriel Church and worked at the U.S. Postal Service. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 from 2-7 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Wednesday morning at 10:00. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Hope Parish, St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church at 11:00 a.m.

    I didn't know Barb personally but my most treasured friend is her daughter, Chrissy, through whom I have met her sisters. Each are beautiful women with caring and giving hearts. That, I'm sure, is a reflection of Barb. I pray for each of you in your loss and grief that God will bless you with many beautiful memories that will bring you comfort and peace. Love you Chrissy!!
