Welty, Barbara A. "Susie", age 69, of Gloucester, MA, formerly of Carrick, passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday, March 22, 2016.

Barbara was born December 6, 1946 in Pittsburgh, PA. She was a graduate of Carrick High School in Pittsburgh and has resided in Gloucester since the late 1990's. Barbara was a self-taught accomplished artist and enjoyed painting. She also enjoyed living by the water and walking. Barbara is survived by her devoted son Daniel Welty of Westboro, MA; her two brothers Jack Welty and Emmitt "Butch" Welty of Pittsburgh. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Saturday morning from 9:00 until the time of service at 10:00 a.m.
