February 27, 1924 - June 7, 2014

Kranz, Barbara K., on June 7, 2014, of Pleasant Hills. Wife of William F. Kranz; mother of Barbara K. Rathe of Castle Shannon and Randolph W. Rathe of West Mifflin; step-mother of Christal A. (Regis) Galardi of Mt. Lebanon and Rose Kranz of Jupiter, FL; grandmother of Lucas Justin (Sarah) Rathe of San Diego, CA, David Erich (Kristin) Rathe of Upper St. Clair and Rianna M. Galardi of Mt. Lebanon. Barbara was born in Straubing, Germany on February 27, 1924. She was married for 64 years, (32 with her late husband Erich H. Rathe and 32 years with William F. (Willi) Kranz.) Barbara spent 90 years loving her family and serving her Lord. A memorial service is planned for late summer at Jefferson Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Christian Preschool, 418 Maxwell Drive, Pittsburgh PA 15236.

    Dear Willi & family, We were so sorry to hear of Barb's passing. She was a wonderful person and always cheerful. You and Barb made us very welcome at the Pleasant Hills Apartment Building when we moved in a year ago. You both were our "inspiration" ! We always enjoyed our conversations. One memory of Barb we will always have, was how she looked so carefully at the scarf our daughter crocheted for me & said how beautiful it was. That is when she told us how much she loved to crochet too. She will be missed by many. Please accept our prayers and sincere sympathy. Your friends on the eighth floor--Rich and Dolores
