Obituary For Bernadette Spavelko

Age 91, on Sunday, May 25, 2025 of Castle Shannon.

Beloved wife of the late John Spavelko for over 60 years; loving mother to John (Bambi), Bob, Rick (Kristen), Mike (Lynn), and Joanne Spavelko; grandmother of Robert, Lauren, Nicholas (Mirela), Michael (Desiray), Christopher (Laine), John, James and Hannah Spavelko; great-grandmother to Ethan, Eva and Claire Spavelko. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Bernadette had two very successful careers. She was a member of the Wilkens EZC Ranch Girls on WDTV (now KDKA) and on Radio stations WPIT and WLOA during the 1950’s and 60’s. She also toured regionally & nationally, including Las Vegas, NV. After her singing/music career, Bernadette became a Registered Nurse where she worked at St. Clair Hospital and private duty nursing for over 40 years.

Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Friday, May 30, 2025 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Saturday morning at 8:45. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Paul of the Cross Parish, St. Anne Church at 9:30 a.m.
