August 1, 1925 - July 8, 2014 Windstein, Bernard J. "Bernie" Age 88, on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, of Carrick. Beloved husband of the late Margaret I. (Graff) Windstein; loving father of Bernie (Lisa) and Peggy Ann (Harry) Cancelmi; devoted grandfather of Tracy (Lenny) Fowler, Natalie (Jim) Kruszewski, Elizabeth (Tom) Whiteford and Sara (Joe) Kurzawski; proud great-grandfather of Emily, Austin, Owen, Wyatt and Benjamin; twin brother of Lawrence (Linda) Windstein and brother of the late Mary (Jim) Ross and Aurelia (Bill) Nichol; also survived by nieces and nephews. Bernie was a proud WWII Veteran of the U.S. Navy, an accomplished furniture refinisher and a long-time and active member of St. Wendelin Parish. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Bernie would like to thank Norbert Personal Care and Seven Oaks Hospice for their compassionate care. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, on Friday from 2-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Saturday morning at 9:15.
