Obituary For Bernard L. Rossi

September 15, 1924 - February 24, 2015

Rossi, Bernard "Ben" Age 90, on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 of Whitehall.

Beloved husband of 67 years to Viola (Brown) Rossi; father of Bernard, Jr. (Paula), Darlene (Dave) Paolicelli, Randall (Diane) and Barbara Houston; grandfather of Brian (Cassandra) and Maranda Rossi, David (Anne) and Drew Paolicelli, Danny (Jessica) Lane, Nicole and Randall Rossi and Jamie Petrone and Zachary Meising; great-grandfather to five great granddaughters; brother of Jean Elia. Preceded in death by eight siblings. Ben served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Radar/Radioman 2nd Class aboard PT 76. He retired from Kaufmann's Department Store where he worked in Sales and Management. He was also well-known locally as a professional saxophone player and loved to play golf. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Saturday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in Pleasant Hills at 10:00 a.m.

    So sorry to learn of Ben,s passing. He was a pleasure to be with on or off thhe golf course. He will be greatly missed by his fellow golfers and the people who had any contact with him. He played at our 50th and amazed all there. We will miss Ben .

    Dear Aunt Vi and family Peggy and I were saddened to hear of Uncle Ben's passing. We are very upset that we were not able to be with you for his services.
