I never met Carolyn. I read her obit in the PG yesterday which is the first I heard of this woman's dedication to teaching for the past 25 years and her courageous battle with renal cancer. Her dedication and commitment to early childhood development was remarkable. The posted remarks by friends are a testament to all that she stood for. It was a great loss for someone so young, so directed on helping others. She will be missed. God bless her spirit. -Bob Schmidt

To the Orban Family: It is with deep regret and sorrow that we learned of Carolyn's passing. As Sean's fraternity brother and college friend, my wife Amy and I met Carolyn when we visited your home in Pittsburgh circa 1991. I developed a rapport with her and accidentally called her "Caroline" once and then jokingly continued to call her that every time I saw her. In our brief encounters I remember her to be a kind and sweet person as well as a loving sister and daughter to all of you. May your hearts and minds find comfort in that she is now in peace. God Bless, Stephen and Amy Rhoades

I worked with Carolyn as a substitute teacher at St. Sylvester and St. Gabriel Schools. What lovely memories! When Carolyn took over the Spanish classes she went to work making the room her own. One day, soon after, I took a group of little ones upstairs for class. As soon as they walked in, they stopped for a moment in awe. They then began to dance all over the place in shear glee. The kids were the most important part of the room for Carolyn. May she rest in peace and may all who love her remember the good times. - Sister Marilyn McMillin
