Obituary For Casey McEvoy

September 10, 1992 - May 20, 2017

McEvoy, Casey Age 24, tragically on May 20, 2017, of Pittsburgh.

Beloved daughter of Patrick and Janice (Cofano) McEvoy; loving sister of Tara (Shawn) Vietmeier; granddaughter of John and Judy Cofano and the late Patrick and Josephine McEvoy; proud aunt of Nathan, Brielle and Juliana Vietmeier; also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Casey was an old soul with such beauty, brilliance, and wit. She loved people and impacted many. She displayed incredible strength while fighting an addiction to heroin. The battle was too great. Her struggle is over; she is finally at peace. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Tuesday, 2-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Wednesday morning at 10:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church at 11:00 a.m. If desired, Casey's family suggests donating to 'To Write Love on Her Arms' by visiting www.twloha.com.

Condolences

Janice and Pat, I met you on Tuesday at Slater's--my dad was across the hall. There are no words to express the sorrow, or any explanation why someone who was an old soul at 24 passes so soon and another who was always young at heart lives to be 94. Your honesty about her addiction gives us all hope. I promise I will pray for you to find the strength through God to move forward, one step at a time, one day at a time. Please feel free to call me or text me if you need someone to listen. Jamie Marshall 941 302-4674

Condolences to the McEvoy family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your whole family. Psalms 147:3 says God, "heals the broken hearted, and binds up their wounds." May God bring you comfort and peace.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your daughter. Our daughter is also an addict. I know the fear we have that we could lose our daughter. I can't imagine what you are going through. I will be praying for peace and comfort for you.

Janice and Pat: I am so sorry for you loss, many years ago we talked about your children, we had a few laughs and a few sorrows. I am sure that there is nothing i can say except your love and caring was never lost on this poor soul. She will forever remain in your heart, god will bless her and your family.

I am from Youngstown, Oh and my wife is in UPMC. I took a break to sit outside and just read your tribute to Casey. Please accept my deepest sorrows on her death. There is nothing you could have done to save her. Telling the truth about her addiction will help others confronting similar sircumstances. I'm sure she loved her family immensely. She is now with the angels....I truest believe that. Billy Frease, Youngstown, OH PS: If there is any way I can help you please text me at 330.360.7921
