Age 92, of Bethel Park, PA entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, in Charleston, SC. Born on January 18, 1928, Kay was the daughter of the late Andrew and Catherine Cornelius. She volunteered at St. Albert the Great School while her children were growing up and ended her career as administrative assistant to the President and CEO of Goodwill Industries at the age of 84. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Eugene Polusny, who passed away in 1993, and is survived by her loving children, Gene (Donna Gertz), Eileen (Pat) Witte, and Kathy (Gary) Peters. Kay has 4 grandchildren, Jackie Peters, with whom she had a very special relationship, Gary (Kelly) Peters, Greg (Angela) Peters, and Derek Peters. She also had three great grandchildren, Owen, Mila, and Asher Peters. Her brother, Chuck, lives in Youngstown, OH and she is also survived by many nieces and nephews, sharing a special bond with Carolyn Barlow and Andy and Carolyn Cornelius. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Andy and Billy. Kay also leaves behind many friends including Barb Balawajder and Betty Mirarchi, and others that she met while living at Dorchester apartments for many years. She was very active and aside from spending time with her family and friends, she was a huge fan of Penn State football and the Steelers, bingo and days at the dog races. A mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. John Capistran Church on Saturday, November 28th at 11:00 AM, with burial at St. John Vianney in Mt. Oliver, PA immediately following. Funeral arrangements are being handled by John F. Slater Funeral Home in Brentwood, PA at 4201 Brownsville Rd. (412) 881-4100. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Dr, Pittsburgh, PA 15205, in honor of her late husband, or another charity of choice.
