Obituary For Catherine M. "Cathy" (Sheets) McGinley

Age 86, of Whitehall, formerly of Etna, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 19, 2022.

Beloved wife of the late Paul B. McGinley; daughter of the late Andrew and Catherine Sheets; cousin of Karen Miller, Kim Miller and Matt Miller; aunt of Ed (Kathy) Engstler, Mickey Engstler and Bernie (Verna) McGinley. Also survived by other cousins, nieces and nephews. Cathy volunteered at Wesley Highland School, the Whitehall Library, Make-a-Wish, and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and worked for TWA for 40 years. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Thursday, September 22, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Friday morning at 9:45. Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Sylvester Church at 10:30 a.m.

    Dear family and friends of Cathy, I just learned of Cathy's passing and wish I would have had the chance to pay my respects in person! Cathy was my volunteer aid at Wesley School for several years and visited me when I moved into the Steeple Chase Community. She was such a great help to me at the school and she quickly became a cherished friend! I always admired her for her kindness, dedication and ability to accomplish so many tasks with efficiency! I regret that I did not see her in the past few years when I was busy taking care of my parents. I will always remember Cathy as an amazing woman and a dear friend!     Cathy worked with our travel agency when we first signed on with the TWA/Worldspan system. She was such a sweet, kind and caring person. We always and looked forward to and enjoyed her visits for update training. Condolences to her family.
