Obituary For Catherine "Tootsie" Paterra

February 23, 1923 - March 13, 2015

Paterra, Catherine "Tootsie" Age 92, on Friday, March 13, 2015 of McKeesport.

Loving wife of 73 to the late Anthony Paterra; beloved mother of Nancy (the late Bill) Gelzheiser and Christine (Ron) Skowronski; proud grandmother of David Skowronski, Brian Gelzheiser, Karen (Ryan) Keegan and Kristen Gelzheiser; sister of the late Evelyn J. Lindsay; great-grandmother of Alexa, Cate, Ashley and Maddy. Also survived by niece, Phyllis Philpott Thakis and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Catherine will be remembered as a woman of style and was at her happiest being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Rd., Brentwood 15227, Monday from 6-8 pm and Tuesday from 2- 4 and 6-8 pm, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 am.

    Nancy and Christine, again, my sincerest sympathy at this most difficult time. I am sorry I can't be there to express in person that you are in my thoughts. You are greatly taxed, even though you do this willingly with love. It is a tremendous task to undertake twice in one week. You were a loving family with many memories you will always carry with you.
