Obituary For Cecelia M. Rodaitis

March 1, 1928 - December 7, 2015

Rodaitis, Cecelia M., age 87, on Monday, December 7, 2015 of Whitehall.

Beloved sister of the late Eleanor (Bernard) Sboray, Edward (survived by Marcy) Rodaitis and Charlotte Rodaitis; loving aunt of Bernard (Sharon) Sboray, Karen Sboray, Wendy Sboray-Wessel, Susan Rodaitis, Charles Rodaitis and John (Mary Ann) Rodaitis. Also survived by 11 great-nieces and nephews. Cecelia was a 1st Lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps during the Korean War and worked in Nursing Administration at Shadyside Hospital for 40 years. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Saturday at 12:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Family Hospice and Palliative Care, 50 Moffet Street, Pittsburgh PA 15243.

    To the family of Cecelia Rodaitis: I was a colleague of "Cele" in nursing administration at Shadyside Hospital for several years. It was a privilege to know her--she was a great mentor in my nursing administration journey. I always admired her tremendous energy, dedication, and passion for nursing.
