Obituary For Charles R. "Chuck" Scheider

March 20, 1935 - February 8, 2015

Scheider, Charles R. "Chuck" Age 79, on Sunday, February 8, 2015, of Overbrook.

Born on March 20, 1935, he was the beloved husband of 56 years to Helene (Gallagher); loving father of Elaine (Bob) Miele, Timothy (Flosie), Michael (Barbara), Coleen and Patrick (Lisa); grandfather of Ashley, Brooke, Carly, Bailey, Amanda, Isabella, Brianna, Timothy and Christian Scheider; brother of Carolyn (Jim) Geary, Bob (Diana) Scheider and the late Rosemary (survived by Don) Kolling and Jean Scheider. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Chuck's passion was cars; he worked as a mechanic for many years and was a jack of all trades. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Rd., Brentwood 15227, Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Norbert Church on Saturday morning at 10:00. If desired, family suggests contributions to St. Norbert Church, 2413 St. Norbert Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15234.

    I did not get to meet Chuck- but Chuck was in my many prayers...I know Patrick, and I can only imagine the quality of man Chuck was by the legacy he left in his son Patrick. Although this time is painful for us all, we have not lost Chuck, we simply had to give him back to the Lord for just a while. Blessings and peace to the Scheider family. George Perinis
