Obituary For Charlotte M. (Cieslak) Joyce

Age 79, of Baldwin, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 7, 2022.

Wife of the late William H. Joyce; loving mother of Brian (Anna) Joyce; Super Nanny of her beloved granddaughters Kaitlyn M. and Lauren F. Joyce; devoted daughter of Charles and Margaret (Prelich) Cieslak; cherished sister of Chuck (Teresa) Cieslak and Jack (the late Maggie) Cieslak; loving aunt of Kimberly (the late Lonnie) Middleton, Chuck (Angela) Cieslak, Dana Esposito, Jessica Cieslak and Megan (Jeff) Cieslak-Mazza. Also survived by dearest friends James and Fran Sfakianakis, cousins and many close friends. Charlotte was a proud "Marine mom" and a Carlow graduate. She was a longtime teacher at Prince of Peace Preschool, Pleasant Hills until her retirement. She embraced all aspects of education in every form. Visitation will be held at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. with close and immediate family please. A blessing service will be held privately.

    Dear Brian and family, So sad to hear of your mothers passing. We've known each other since 1956 when we were freshman at St. Casimir High School. We remained friends all these years but haven't seen her since before the pandemic. My heart goes out to you and yours in this difficult time.
