Obituary For Clara C. Zern

August 20, 1933 - June 24, 2018

Zern, Clara C. (Szczepankowski), formerly of Brentwood, on Sunday, June 24, 2018, passed away with her family at her side. Beloved and loving wife for almost 60 years of the late Regis J. Zern who died August 25, 2014. Mother of David J. (Krys) of Johnstown PA, James A. (Beverly) of Whitehall, and Kenneth P. of Robinson Township and the late Thomas J.; loving grandmother of Matthew (Andrea), Stephanie, Nicole, Emily and Adria; great-grandmother of Lillyonna and Elliott; sister of Hank (Jackie ) Stevens; sister-in-law of John (Therese) Lukus, Patricia Gaetano, Karen Schultz, Mary (Howard) Bittner and brother-in-law Theodore R. (Roxanne) Zern. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and loving cousins. Preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Eleanor Szczepankowski, sisters, Bernadette Rudy, Joan M. Lukus and infant Eleanor Szczepankowski and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, T. Regis and Ethel (Euler) Zern and sisters-in-law, Rosemary Zern, Elaine Carson and brothers-in-law, Ted Gaetano and baby Richard Zern.

Family and friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, PA 15227 on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Wednesday morning at 9:45. Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Apostles Parish at St. Wendelin Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Adalbert Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in her memory and as a testament of her devout Catholic faith and love for St. Wendelin Church to Holy Apostles Parish, 3198 Schieck Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15227.
