Obituary For Deborah J. "Debbie" (Garfold) Sauer

Age 66, on Sunday, October 18, 2020, of Brentwood.

Beloved wife of the late Donald R. Sauer; loving mother of Stephanie (Shane) Turoski and Rebecca Sauer; cherished grandmother of Katelyn, Rylee, Shane, Jr., and Owen; daughter of the late Gilbert J. and Dolores (White) Garfold; sister of Mike (Donna) Garfold, Alice (the late George) Gross and Kathy (Tom) Bigley. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Thursday morning at 9:45. Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Basil Church at 10:30 a.m. Due to the current public health crisis, masks and social distancing guidelines must be adhered to.

    Maureen you are right that the cousins were close, we grew up thanks to our parents at 'Grandpa's' every Sunday for dinner. And God help the 'no shows'! We visited each other's homes often. Your Johnny got me a job with him and above all we had fun and enjoyed every moment together. So when we are called home it is hard on everyone. Happy Birthday Oct 15th Johnny's birthday. I sent him We miss you and DJ and hope your well. We have good memories and we're happy for the times we spent together we will miss Debbie she is now with Johnny, and Barb at peace without pain.God bless us all. Angie

    Maureen Garfolo

    My late husband John "Johnny" Garfolo was Debbie's first cousin. As children the cousins in that family were very close! I spent some happy and sad times with Debbie, her children and her siblings! Our son, D.J. Is working out of town this month and can't make any of the viewings. I am avoiding all gatherings on the advice of my doctors. My sympathies and love are with the family at this difficult time.
