Obituary For Donna M. Carson

Age 90, after a brief illness passed peacefully, as was her wish, in her sleep with clean pajamas on Monday, March 17, 2025.

Donna was happily married to her honey, Boop Carson, for 66 great years. She missed him daily. She was a selfless, loving mother to Lori (Chris) Brickett and Pam (Rob) Lloyd. Nobody could be as proud as she was about her grandchildren, Jessica (Stephen) Von Bloch, Carly (Grady) Wirth and Kelsey (Mike Neilson) Lloyd. She was a fantastic Grammy to her five great-grandchildren, Luke, Josh, Cash, Carmella and Naomi and was excited about number six on the way. She leaves behind her baby sister, Linda Nicotra, whom she loved with all her heart. She will also be missed by her cousin, Joan, who was loved dearly. She will be remembered fondly by several nieces and nephews.

Donna loved her entire family! She was the absolute best mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister and wife that anybody could ask for. She loved her Chihuahuas, especially her Louie. Donna also loved the Pirates. More importantly, Donna will be remembered for her joy of life, sense of humor, kind heart and her unwavering support and love she offered her family to the end. She will be greatly missed.

Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 from 3-7 p.m. where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 10:00 a.m.

My dear cousin was like the sister I never had. We grew up together in Altoona, Pennsylvania. She was so supportive and always there for everyone who knew her. It's so hard to imagine her not being here for me to laugh over the phone about our experiences. Her regular expression was, "One day at a time." My heart aches as I think of life without her. Love and sympathy to all her family. Cousin Joan Foor

My sister was a remarkable woman who absolutely wanted the best for everyone. She was someone who truly appreciated the simplest of life's pleasures. (Her birds and bunnies in the yard for example, I swear to God she was Snow White!) She could not express enough appreciation for the smallest kindness shown to her or anyone she loved. Kindness, compassion and selflessness were her specialties. If everyone were fortunate enough to have a Donna in their life, this world would look very different than it does right now. She cared for, nurtured and guided me my entire life. 'Counting your blessings" and faith were primary messages! To have someone share, to her core, every joy and every sadness was gift to me. I do believe the greatest gift was laughter. A big light went out in the world when she passed! I'm so grateful she was my sister. All the love she's given me, fills my heart today. I know I can speak for our entire family when I say, we will miss her guiding light. I'm lonely without you, my sweet sister!

We loved Donna, she and Boop lived across the street from us almost my entire life. She was a dear friend of my parents and also our entire family. She always had a funny story to share and I loved spending time with her. She was a special lady who always cared about her family and friends. I will miss her but I know she's finally back with the love of her life, her sweet Boop. Love and sympathy! Paul and Sharon Preffer!🙏❤️
