Obituary For Doreen Voigt Buechel

Age 64, of Brentwood, Beloved wife of Richard Buechel and mother of Leah (Adam Bernardo) and Bennett Buechel. Daughter of Neil and the late Lois (Bauer) Voigt. Sister of Beverly, Kenneth, Susan Voigt Miskanic, Deanne (Joyce Wilhelm), Karla, Elaine Voigt Boyle (Jody) and the late Douglas (Maureen) and Alice Voigt. Dear friend of Rosie Mills. Also survived and beloved by many nieces and nephews and other extended family. Doreen will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was widely cherished for her compassionate heart and wonderful sense of humor. She loved people and never wanted to leave the party. Her first thoughts were always for others.

Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, on Sunday, April 28, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at which time closing prayers will be held.

    So sorry to see this today, because I would have been to the funeral home. Doreen and Rick were our neighbors when you lived on Stewart Ave. I remember when she had Leah and was so happy and proud. We were sad when you moved to Brentwood but would still see you at the store. Connected with her on Facebook a few years back 😥.     I knew her when she lived in Mt Oliver. She was a really Great person back then.I didn't keep in touch with her until I saw her on Facebook. Then we became friends once again. Prayers to all of her family .She was a really nice person. God bless you and hope you watch over your family

    To Leah, Bennet and all Doreen's close family and friends, so very sorry for your loss. She was so motherly, kind and patient dealing with us high school kids when she managed the Brentwood pool. We all loved having her as our manager and over a decade later I still remember her contagious laugh! So glad I got to spend a full summer getting to know her and she truly treated all of us as one of her own. Literally one of the kindest people I have ever met.

    Robert Boehm

    Doreen and Rick, my brother Steve and his wife Jan, and my wife Beverly and I were on Vacation together in Daytona Beach. There was a swimming pool where we stayed that was purified salt water. Both Doreen and I learned to swim in deep water since the salt water helped us to float. We always shared this memory together. We all loved Doreen. Robert and Beverly Boehm
