Obituary For Doris Jean (Beck) Ackman

Of Baldwin, on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, took the next step in her journey.

She was preceded by her husband of 53 years, Richard Bayard Ackman; survived by her children, Donna (Jim) Herd, Linda Ackman, Ruth Ewing, Richard (Nancy) Ackman, Paula (Paul) Ackman-Wright, Clifford Ackman and Martin (Marsia) Ackman. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Doris was an avid quilter, cook and collector of esoteric. She was beloved by her children, extended family and friends for her kindness and patience. She will be missed. Goodnight, Moon. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 2-7 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Doris' family encourages contributions to your favorite animal rescue or shelter.
