I had Mrs. Rutkowski as a teacher in the 3rd grade in 1968. In all my subsequent years of schooling and having gone through countless teachers, none have stuck out in my memory or my heart as much as Mrs. Rutkowski. Her kindness, her warmth, her teaching style were all templates of what a good educator should be. As an adult, I frequently thought about contacting her to tell her what a profound impact she had on my life. It'll always be my biggest regret that I never followed through on that course. But at least I can let her kids and grandkids know that 55+ years later, Mrs. Rutkowski remains in my memory as a stellar educator and the pinnacle of all that's good in the world. Rest in peace, dear lady. Job well done. Clara Jacob

Honey was my kindergarten teacher at Saint Alberts! She was one of a kind! We were all so sad when she retired but loved driving by her house everyday on the way home from school and she would be right there at her door or back porch waving to an entire bus of kids that would be screaming "Honey!!!". As Laura mentioned above, I also remember stopping class to pray anytime we heard sirens. Memories that I will won't ever forget! RIP. πŸ™πŸΌπŸ’•πŸ™πŸΌ πŸ™πŸΌπŸ’•πŸ™πŸΌ

My dearest 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. R: You were a light in my life when only darkness existed. You knew my mom closely before she died. (I was only five and would start Kindergarten in two-weeks.) You also comforted me when my grandmother (who moved-in and became our new mom), died before I turned seven. The first great 'bundle of joy' of your life, Reed, would permanently take you away from teaching our class midway through the year at Christmas. 'Oh, what a loss that day was...' when you shared the news with our class that you were expecting... and would not return. I will never forget the love and encouragement that you offered me in my utter confusion with reading (and for that matter learning anything due to the trauma I endured). Of all the teachers that I had in life, YOU alone were the 'standout' in those short four months of 1961. May you rest in eternal peace.

Honey was a wonderful educator that truly made an impact. She taught my father, my sister, and me. My fondest memory is stopping class to pray together every time we heard sirens. My deepest condolences to your family. With Sympathy, Laura Clark (Picconi)

"Honey" was an outstanding Teacher. She was a huge part of Faith formation for her students and prepared them for lifelong learning. She also often taught or guided their parents. "The influence of a good Teacher can never be erased." You have our love and prayers. May the Lord give you comfort, strength and Peace. She lives on in all of you and her students. Honey was a bright LIGHT of goodness in this world. She served the Lord for so many years in the vineyard at St Albert's. We are so grateful for her Presence in Education and the Church Family. With sympathy, Kathy and Sons
