Roth, Edward A., Jr., age 94, of Whitehall, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025. Born December 7, 1930, in Pittsburgh to Edward A. Roth, Sr. and Elizabeth Rengers Roth. On December 21, 1955, he married Elsie Jean Kress, his loving wife of 69 years. Ed was a graduate of Brentwood High School and served in the United States Army and the Armed Reserves. He started his career at Bell Telephone as a switchman, ending his 41-year career at Verizon. He is survived by his wife Elsie Roth; his children, Diane (James) Frick, Edward Roth, Jeffrey Roth, and Stephen (Bonnie) Roth; his grandchildren, Michael Frick, Zachary (Sarah) Roth, Nicholas (Allie) Roth, Elizabeth (Matthew) Grassi, and Kyan Roth; his great grandchildren Miles Emery Grassi and Autumn Rose Roth. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Donald Jones. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Monday, November 3, 2025 from 11:00 a.m.to 12:30 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Concordia Lutheran Church, 3109 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227.
