July 6, 1924 - January 15, 2019 The loving family of Edwin Marquis mourns his passing on January 15, 2019 peacefully at his home in Bonita Springs, Florida, at the age of 94. Mr. Marquis is the son of the late Joseph Henry and Alma Marquis. He was born in Morningside, Pa, graduated from Central Catholic High School and went to work for the Pittsburgh Press/Post Gazette in 1942. His rewarding career spanned five decades and helped him afford all of his children an incredible work ethic by example. Mr. Marquis married his beloved wife, Betty on April 12, 1947 and enjoyed each day with her until her passing in late October of 2013. Their love spanned a lifetime and their joy was their family. He leaves the legacy he built with his wife, a family which started with nine of their own children and deepened with each marriage and birth for generations. The same family gladly and lovingly cared for him until his death, with the assistance of valued caregivers. Ed and Betty moved to Baldwin, PA in 1954 where Ed was a founding member of the St. Germaine Parish, which was established in 1957. He spent many years enjoying the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates, another legacy he afforded his children who enjoy camaraderie in supporting their hometown teams to this day. Ed was a passionate golfer and enjoyed retirement with Betty living on a golf course in Bonita Springs, Florida. Ed also enjoyed gardening and music and for years would travel to each of his children's homes in the spring to plant flowers and engage in their families. Ed is survived by his children: Cheryl Marquis of Washington, DC, Nancy McNeil and her husband Dalph of Clarion, PA and Ft. Myers, FL, Craig Marquis and his wife Nasema of Arlington, Texas, Jay Marquis and his partner Terry Lehotsky of Pittsburgh, PA, Linda Rohar of Pittsburgh, PA, Jeffrey Marquis and his partner Victoria Stansell of Plano, Texas, Lauren Eheman of Pittsburgh, PA, and David Marquis and his wife Tammi of Pittsburgh, PA.
