Farnsworth, Eileen C (Bollman), age 95. Loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother died Saturday, October 1, 2022. She was the daughter of William S. and Martha C. (Lochynski) Bollman. Born at home in Carrick on August 15, 1927, she grew up and lived her entire life in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. Eileen married and had three children, William (Diane) of State College, PA; Celeste (Rick) Qualters, of Germantown Maryland; and Deborah Farnsworth of Finleyville, PA. Eileen graduated from Carrick High School and attended Duffs Business School of Pittsburgh. She continued her education at Robert Morris. Eileen worked for 30 years as a Judicial Secretary for the Honorable Donald F. Ziegler in Federal Court, Pittsburgh, PA. Prior to her work with Judge Ziegler, she held several other professional secretarial positions at Carnegie Mellon and Koppers Law Firm. In 1985 Eileen was the recipient of the distinguished National Legal Secretary of the year award by the National Legal Secretary Organization. In her free time she loved both international and domestic travel. She would share accounts of sailing on the Queen Elizabeth III, flying aboard the Concord, surfing in Hawaii and basking in the sun of the French Riviera. Eileen also was an accomplished square dancer and enjoyed many, many years of evening dancing with Peanut Squares and Happy Go Lucky. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren, Will, Ken, Anna, DeAnna and Elisa. Eileen was a lifetime parishioner of St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church, where she served as an Eucharistic Minister for over 30 years. Left behind to cherish her memory are her three children as well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren; Broderick, Penelope, Scarlett, Jameson, Wesley, Kaiden, Dominick, Micah and Mia. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Wednesday at 9:15 followed by Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Hope Parish, St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The Pittsburgh Foundation, Five PPG Place, Suite 250, Pittsburgh, PA 15222, in memory of Eileen Farnsworth.
