Obituary For Elaine A. Mazzocco

July 25, 1922 - May 19, 2017

Mazzocco, Elaine A. (Antonelli), age 94, on Friday, May 19, 2017 of Baldwin Boro, formerly of Bloomfield. Beloved wife of 71 years to Anthony D. "Sharkey" Mazzocco; loving mother of Bernard (Nancy) Mazzocco, Toni Alicia (Joseph L.) Luvara and the late Daniel M. Mazzocco; cherished grandma of Daniel (Connie), Nicholas, Joseph, and Vivianne Mazzocco and Vincent and Paul Luvara; proud great-grandma of Marin Mazzocco; daughter of the late Bernard and Clarice Antonelli; sister of Jean (the late Meo) Carrabotta, and the late Vincent "Jim" (Aldona) Antonelli and Raymond (the late Alberta) Colaianni. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and their families. Elaine was a well-known seamstress in the community. In addition to sewing, she also enjoyed baking, playing Bridge, golf, bingo and bowling with friends, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She was a good neighbor to her extended family on Leona Drive and was very involved in the church. Her kindness and generosity extended beyond her family. Elaine had the ability to make everyone she met feel important. She was loved and respected by all those who knew her. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. and Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Tuesday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held privately.

    I'm so sorry to hear about Aunt Elaine. She was a sweet and lovely woman and I always enjoyed the visits with her and Uncle Sharky. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Praying God will give you comfort and peace. Eternal rest grant unto Aunt Elaine, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her; may she rest in peace.
