Obituary For Elsie Marie (Yost) Fennessy

Elsie Marie (Yost) Fennessy Our wonderful Mom and Grandma was called to heaven on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, after 97 loving years on this earth. Daughter of Austrian immigrants, Elsie grew up in McKees Rocks, PA, living through the Depression and World War II. She found love while working at Continental Can Co. as a typist shortly after the war. She and husband Regis lived in Pleasant Hills and Whitehall, where they raised their children, Kathleen, Robin, and Bob. A fun and caring mother, Elsie was also an accomplished bowler, dancer, joke-teller, and singer of songs for every occasion. She suffered the loss of husband Rege in 1971 and daughter Kathleen in 2005. Her strong, positive spirit and Catholic faith saw her and her family through the sad times. Elsie is deeply missed by daughter Robin (David) Londino, son Robert (Tammy) Fennessy, grandchildren Matthew (Stephanie) Warhola, Adam (Meredith) Warhola, Jillian Londino, Allyson Londino, Cara Mia Londino, Sean Fennessy, and Maverick Bowyer. Grandma loved and enjoyed her great-grandchildren Colton, Liam, Viviana, Gia, Lena, Lily, and Nataley. She is also survived by her loving sister-in-law Catherine Yost, nephews, and nieces in CT, as well as those in PA, VT, and CA, and dear friend Debbie Schmidt. We all will miss her love, jokes, songs, and telling us to eat more and dress more warmly. Elsie is now happily reunited with her dear Regis and Kathleen, parents Peter and Mary Yost, brothers Peter, Walter, Eugene, Albert, and sister Dolores. Special thanks to Asbury Heights (Willow) for their love and appreciation of Elsie and her sweet ways. A private visitation was held on Saturday at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 which was followed by a graveside service at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. If desired, family suggests contributions to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, 1 North Linden Street, Duquesne, PA 15110.
