Dedig, Emelda N. "Mel" (Eger) Age 89, on Sunday, April 8, 2018, of Baldwin Boro.

Beloved wife of the late Gerard P. "Bud" Dedig; loving mother of Kathleen (Ken) Grassing, Marianne (John) Reitmeyer, Geralyn Perrotti, Robert (Carmen), Thomas (Lynn), James (Gina) and Michelle (Brad) Bryant; grandma of John, Rebecca, Jeremy, Shane, Kristen, Sam, Michael, Victoria, Nicolas and Noah; great-grandma of six; daughter of the late Howard and Hazel Eger; sister of the late Robert Eger. Mel retired as a loan officer from PNC Bank. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Thursday morning at 9:45. Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Apostles Parish in St. Wendelin Church at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Alzheimer's Association, 1100 Liberty Ave., Ste. E 201, Pgh., PA 15122.

    Nancy Kennedy asked me to let you know how sorry she was to not be able to attend Mel's funeral. She had an appointment scheduled with a specialist, for the last 4 months, that couldn't be rescheduled.
