Obituary For Evelyn K. Wilson

November 23, 1920 - February 7, 2018

Wilson, Evelyn K. Age 97, of Plantation, FL went to be with her Lord on February 7, 2018 at her daughter's home in Plantation, FL.

She was born on November 23, 1920, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, then lived in Pittsburgh from 1950 to 2015. She was an active member of Baldwin Community United Methodist Church for over 65 years. A graduate of Indiana State Teachers College and later achieved her Masters of Education in 1970 from the University of Pittsburgh. Her teaching career began in 1947 in Perryopolis, PA and after raising her children she returned to teaching at Thomas Jefferson High School for 26 years. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert W. Wilson; brother, Walter R. (Jean) Kuhns, II and sisters, Muriel (Charles) Cullings, Marguerite (Robert) Rumbaugh, Ruth (William) Meyer and Lois (Donald) Bishop. She is survived by her children, Barbara (Richard) Nash, Scott Wilson and Greg (Lori) Wilson; four grandchildren, Stephen (Erin) Murtagh, Brian (Geraldina) Murtagh, Erin (Joseph) Harrington and Bethany Wilson; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Burial will be private. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 17, at the Baldwin Community United Methodist Church, 5001 Baptist Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15236 at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BCUMC.     Scotty...How lucky your sister, brother, and you were to share memories with your mom for so many years. I remember meeting her once at a Steeplechase Christmas Party. It's where I first met you until I started working at Giant Eagle. So very sorry for your loss. Due to another commitment, I won't be able to visit with you at the church but your family and you are in my prayers.
