October 4, 1958 - February 15, 2014

Catania, Frank J.

Age 55, on Saturday, February 15, 2014, of Baldwin

Husband of Patti A. Catania; father of Kelly and Michael Catania; son of Frances and the late Joseph Catania; brother of Diane Meyers of Allison Park and Joseph Catania of Bloomfield; also survived by his nieces and nephews. Frank was the owner of Frank's Restaurant and Bar on Rt. 88. He enjoyed listening to the blues and loved his harmonica. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, on Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at which time the Funeral Prayer will be held. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Gabriel of The Sorrowful Virgin Church at 10 a.m. If desired, family suggests contributions to the American Diabetes Association, 100 W. Station Square Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.

    I was deeply saddened to hear about Frank's passing. We played music together many times which I always really enjoyed. I will truly miss Frank

    I will truly miss Frank. I loved making him laugh and playing my guitar while he played his harmonica before the bar was open in the morning. He played with our band many times and would come to my basement to jam. He will always be in my fondest memories.
