Age 93, on Sunday, May 28, 2023, of Bethel Park .

Beloved husband of the late Audrey (Green) Vatter; loving father of William (Lynn) Vatter, Frank "Buddy" Vatter, III, Linda (Greg) Guenther and Debbie (Ken) Keck; cherished grandfather of Kristen (Matthew) Cave, Lauren (Anthony) Posa, Michael (Stacey Brown) Nader, Matthew (Nikki) Nader, Dana and Brian Keck and the late Jamie Nader; loving great-grandpa of Alexis Nader, Gianna, Makenzie and Vincenzo Posa, Taylor Cave, Rian Nader and Olivia and Bailey Nader; son of the late Frank J. Vatter, Sr. and Marie (Vietmeier) Vatter; brother of David (the late Dorothy) and the late Robert (the late Barbara) Vatter and Charles (the late Isabelle) Vatter. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Frank graduated from Baldwin High School in 1948. He then joined the U.S. Marine Corps where he served during the Korean Conflict. It was there that Frank met Audrey, a fellow Marine, his beloved wife of 50 years. He was a member of the Bricklayers Union Local 2, starting his career for MARSA, Inc. and retiring from RG Friday Masonry, Inc. Frank was also a lifelong member of the Jugo Slav Club in Bethel Park. He was an avid outdoorsman with a love of hunting and fishing. More recently, Frank enjoyed spending time with family playing cards, putting puzzles together and watching movies.

Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 2-8 p.m. where a Blessing Service will be held on Friday morning at 11:00. Interment immediately following at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
