Mackey, Fred Age 67, on Sunday, March 25, 2018, of Brentwood .

Beloved husband of Tracy (Donahue); father of Jason (Abigail) Mackey; proud "Pap Ted" of Rider; beloved son of Margaret (Baier) and the late Fred; brother of Linda (the late Lou) Stringe, Barbara (Ray) Fierst and Deborah Mackey Dubay; son-in-law of James and the late Toni Lee Donahue; also survived by his sister-in-law Erin Donahue and nieces and nephews. Fred fought until the final moments in his battle with MDS/leukemia. Nothing made him happier than Myrtle Beach vacations with Tracy, supporting Jason's athletic pursuits and journalism career, and laughing with his grandson, Rider. Whether it was watching sports, in his early days riding motorcycles, or listening to blues and classic rock music, Fred was passionate about many things. His greatest passion, of course, was taking care of his loved ones, at which he excelled. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Thursday, March 29, 2018, from 3-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held privately.
