Obituary For Giampiero Benedetti

October 19, 1930 - March 9, 2015

Age 84, on Monday, March 9, 2015, of Baldwin.

Beloved husband of the late Carla (Tambellini); loving father of Ruona (Joseph) Nicola; proud Nonno of John Paul and Carla Nicola; brother of Margaret (Charles) Holzer and the late Wanda Allen. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Thursday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church at 10:00 a.m. If desired, family suggests contributions to St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, One Grove Place, Pittsburgh, PA 15236.

    Ruona: One of the best thing's one can say in praise of a lawyer is that a person was a lawyer's lawyer. Your father was a dad's dad to you Joe and the children, a friend's friend to my dad and my mom, and a gentleman's gentleman to me and to all who knew him. There was no more delightful picnic than one shared with the Benedettis in the backyards at Nurnberger Drive and no better Christmas eve feast and fellowship than with Carla and John in the gameroom of that house, not to mention Calamari stew and other fine cooking . . . to say nothing of the prettiest, happiest girl with the beautiful name who is his and Carla's daughter. . . I hope that I can visit tomorrow before Mass.
