Obituary For Gilbert John "Gibby" Lehner

Age 92, on Thursday, June 23, 2022, of Mt. Oliver.

Beloved husband of 53 years to Bernice Helen (Staudt) Lehner; loving father of Patricia (Dorothy Walker) Lehner, Stephen J. Lehner and Tina (Stephen) Petterson; grandfather of Zachary Daniels and Isiah Petterson; brother of Corrine Smith and the late Patricia Lee Buechel; son of the late Gilbert C. and Margaret (Mueller) Lehner; brother-in-law of Margaret Kirch and Joan Shelley. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Monday, June 27, 2022 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. Funeral Prayer on Tuesday morning at 9:45 am. Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish at St. Albert the Great Church at 10:30 a.m.

    Condolences to Bernice and to the Lehner family. We remember "Uncle Gibby" as: the MAN who drove the big Lincoln town car; as the avid sports fan who played baseball for Rich's Bar and lived "back the road". He took us on movie dates when he courted Aunt Niecy. We remember his serving our country during the Korean War and his dedication to honoring Veterans by placing flags on their graves. He was an all around good guy who tried to put a smile on everyone's face. We will miss you much, but know that you are in a better place, where every hit is a home run. RIP. Billy, Jeanine & Jo-Ann
