Obituary For H. Jane Knefelkamp

October 23, 1935 - March 30, 2014

Knefelkamp, H. Jane (Monning)

Age 78, on Sunday, March 30, 2014, of Pleasant Hills.

Beloved wife for 58 years to the late Roger H. Knefelkamp, who passed away on June 20, 2013; loving mother of Mark (Karen) Knefelkamp and Carol (Al) Banahasky; loving grandma of Jonathan and Jeffrey Banahasky and Kelly (Marc) Preston; daughter of the late Hertha Spencer and the late William F. Monning; sister of the late Linda Knefelkamp and the late Bill Monning who passed away on February 22, 2014. Also survived by nieces and great-nieces and nephews. Jane was a proud graduate of Baldwin High School (1953) and worked for many years as a secretary for State Farm Insurance. She was a life-long member of Zion Lutheran Church, Brentwood. Jane enjoyed playing bridge, bowling (for many years as captain), antique shopping, and being on her high school reunion committee. She dearly loved her family and friends and will be deeply missed by all. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Thursday morning at 11:00.     My family and I are so very sad to hear about the passing of Janie. She was mom's best friend and this is a great loss for all. My memory of her will always be when mom and she had "ladies night out". I still recall her coming to the door all dressed up and smelling of sweet perfume and peppermint gum. She always treated us kids to a pack of gum. (we loved ladies night out). Over the years mom has told me stories of their 4 hour breakfasts and I know she will miss her dearly. She will always be in my heart too!
