Obituary For Harry Alexander Tripson

May 16, 2017

Tripson, Harry Alexander Age 97, of Baldwin Borough, formerly of Whitehall Borough and Etna, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 16, 2017. Beloved husband of 65 years to Mary M. (Novotny) Tripson; father of Christine (Jim Schweizer) Tripson, John (Sally) Tripson and George (Lauren) Tripson; cherished grandfather of Eric Tripson, Jamie (Sean) Griffith, Julie (Adam) Read, Amy Tripson and Mark Tripson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and family friend, Sarah Altavilla. Harry is a World War II Veteran having served in the Army Air Corps, REPSQ 13th ADG. He completed airplane and engine maintenance at Keesler Field, Mississippi and was stationed in the South Pacific for four years. After returning home, Harry eventually landed a position in electronics with RCA, where he remained until retirement. During his retirement, Harry enjoyed taking care of his grandchildren, traveling on bus tours with his wife Mary, going to flea markets, trying to figure out the circuitry and "fixing" computers, and especially loved gardening and being outdoors. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Friday, May 19, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Saturday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church at 10:00 a.m.
