Harvey and my grandfather, Bob Boniface, were very close friends from their fire department days in Brooklyn...a close friendship that included his wife, Mary, and my Nana Nettie...and continued even in the years since my grandparents' deaths. I remember their visits to my grandfather's home fondly and was deeply touched by a letter that Mary wrote to me not long before her passing about how much she enjoyed reading the book I had published about my grandparents..and how she enjoyed "visiting" with them once again by experiencing them once again through my book. While I have not seen them since I was a child, I am so sad to hear of Harvey's passing. I am glad to know that he is reunited with his wonderful wife, Mary, and his children, Rosemary and Lawrence...and my grandparents, Bob and Nettie, as well. Rest in Peace, Harvey!
