Age 103, formerly of Pittsburgh, joined her many loved ones in Heaven on Sunday, December 24, 2023, in Palm Harbor, FL, where she resided for the past eight years.
She was born on November 5, 1920, to Frank and Teofila Siarkowski in Pittsburgh. She married Joseph C. Persang on October 18, 1943.
Helen is survived by three children: Carol Rittenhouse (Tom), Joseph R. Persang (Nancy), and Wayne R. Persang (Lynn); eight grandchildren, Thomas D. Rittenhouse, Jennifer Doerfler (John), Tracy Kepler (Jamie), Michele Meehleib (Jarrod), Wayne Michael Persang (Nicky), Lisa Hoffman (Rick), Joseph B. Persang (Leanne), and Steven Persang (Mimi); 18 great-grandchildren and eight nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Joseph, and her seven siblings: John, Chester, Stanley and Raymond Siarkowski, Stella Wesolek (Bernard), Frances Sorocko (Jim) and Catherine Vukela (Edward).
Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, from 4-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Thursday morning at 9:45 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Sylvester Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 2900 Washington Road, McMurray, PA.
