Basara, Helen J.

Age 95, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 8, 2021, of Baldwin Boro.

Beloved wife of the late George Basara; loving mother of Bernadine (Paul) Martin, Georgene (Sumner) Bemis and George (Patty) Basara; proud grandmother of 9 and great grandmother of 15. Also survived by her brother Frank Soya and family, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation and services were held lovingly and privately. Arrangements made by the John F.     Our hearts and prayers are with the Basara Family, extended family and friends. We are deeply saddened for your loss. We were blessed to know Bub through the marriage of our daughter, Megan, with Ben. Before meeting her, Ben had shared many stories about her, so I felt I knew her by the time I met her. Ben always had a twinkle in his eye when he spoke of her... always letting us know that he was her favorite:) I believe Bub made all her grandkids and great grandkids feel extra special in a way that only a grandparent can do. She loved her family with loving devotion. We were blessed to know her. May peace and comfort surround all of you during this very difficult and sad time. Our deepest condolences.

    When a person changes locations to their eternal one, that person's legacy is what lives on here. Having the benefit of working with her son George for 6 years and meeting the Basara family, I have seen the tremendous legacy that she has had and will continue to have. I can say, given my friendship with George, that even I am one who is blessed by her legacy. My sincere, heartfelt condolences to the Basara family during this sad time. Our abiding hope shall be that we all meet up with her again.
