Obituary For Helen M. Iannacchione

August 5, 1931 - September 27, 2018

Iannacchione, Helen (DeSimone) Age 87, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2018, of Jefferson Hills.

She was born to the late Biagio and Rosina DeSimone on August 5, 1931. Helen loved her family and was proud to be a devout Catholic and of Italian heritage. Helen's passion was cooking and she enjoyed making everyone's favorite dishes or cookie. She attended daily mass and loved to pray for anyone who had a special need. She was part owner of Tony Remo's Bar for 26 years. She volunteered at St. Thomas A' Becket CCD office and she was a member of the ladies of charity. Helen is survived by her husband Anthony, three children, Howard Burkhardt, Carl Richard Burkhardt and Tina (Dan) Martin, step grandchildren Sara and J, and her guardian angel Lisa Palma. She is also survived by her brother Victor (Marlene) DeSimone and a number of loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Joseph (Marie) DeSimone and sisters Lena (Rudy) Yacabucci, Rose (Herk) Sholtis and Carmela (Duane) Mattes. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her courageous battle with brain cancer, especially those at the Hillman Cancer Center, Shadyside Hospital, and Canterbury Place, where she spent her last days. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Monday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas A' Becket Church at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to St. Thomas A' Becket Church Building Fund, 139 Gill Hall Road, Jefferson Hills, PA 15025.

I will cherish her laughter, her tears, her hugs, and holding hands now, tomorrow, and forever.     I met Helen through her friend Dee Supp in church at St Thomas A Becket. When I would see Helen she away spoke to me and a friendly smile. So sorry to her family for your loss. Very nice lady.
