Obituary For Helene M. Scheider

Age 87, on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, of Overbrook.

Beloved wife of the late Charles R. Scheider; mother of Elaine (Bob) Miele, Timothy (Flo), Michael (Barbara), Patrick (Jackie) and the late Coleen Scheider; proud Gramma of Ashley (Mark), Brooke, Carly, Bailey (Sam), Amanda, Isabella, Brianna, Timothy and Christian; Great-Gramma of Elicia; sister of Anita (the late Earl) Hochendoner, Patricia Gallagher, Connie (the late Joe) Fetcko, Edward "Ned" (Marianne) Gallagher and the late Stanley (survived by Irene) Gallagher. Also survived by nieces, nephews and friends. Helene dedicated over 26 years of her life to serving as a nurse at St. Clair Hospital. She was the founder of the Turner Syndrome Society of Pittsburgh and a devoted, longtime member of Blessed Trinity Parish. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Monday, June 2, 2025 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Tuesday morning at 10:15. Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Albert the Great Church at 11:00 a.m. If desired, family suggests contributions to Ladies of Charity, 2900 Noblestown Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
