I remember Iris' bright spirit and the love and care she gave to her husband, Doug Stroup, before he passed away of bone cancer. I also recollect having once met her second husband, a widower, I think, whom I believe may have been their home teacher, at her husband Doug Stroup's funeral. Also, a nice gentleman. To the family, I am sorry for your loss. The first time I met Iris was at the day of her wedding reception right after she married Doug who was my brother-in-law. After her passing, one of my late husband's nieces said that she had heard that Iris had passed away. Her birthday would have been just one day before that of my oldest granddaughter. I also remember her once having prepared fried plantains or bananas and sharing them with us when my husband and I stopped by to visit. She truly loved home and family and know that her loved ones still here will dearly miss her. Those on the other side will now have a great reunion. Rita Stroup, sister-in-law

It was always a pleasure to see Iris at church and she was always willing to talk and share her experiences. I'm sad I hadn't been able to see her lately because of the pandemic, but I know she's happily reunited with family and friends who passed before.
