Obituary For Irma M. Fedrizzi

June 19, 1924 - November 29, 2015

Fedrizzi, Irma M. (Valetti), of Baldwin, passed peacefully into heaven on November 29, 2015.

Irma was born in Pittsburgh on June 19, 1924 where she attended St. Mary of the Mount Catholic High School and then took classes at Carnegie Tech (now CMU). She worked at Murphy's 5 & 10 and eventually became a bookkeeper at Dormont Oldsmobile. In June of 1948, she married her beloved husband Livio and had five lovely girls. Creating a loving home for her growing family was always her focus. Irma's big heart and kind spirit was evident in her community activities, from arranging Santa visits for neighborhood kids, working with St. Albert's Christian Mother's club, baking Christmas cookies for the neighbors and working many evenings at St. Albert's bingo. She did a great job as the "unofficial Mayor's wife of Green Glen." Irma was a Mom to all who knew her and never met a stranger. Traveling, cooking and visiting friends were important to Irma. In quiet times, she enjoyed both her flower and vegetable gardens, reading books and spending time with her Green Glen neighbors. Spending Sunday afternoons rooting for the Steelers was never a quiet time. Irma and Livio had five daughters Christine (Jack) Remmen, Mary Ann (Frank) Pitek, Louise (Doug) Dariano, Jan (Vince) Girdano, Paula (Warren) Lash, 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one on the way. In Heaven, she is surrounded by her husband Livio, daughter Louise Dariano, one great-grandson, and two brothers, Bob and Lou Valetti, who proceeded her into Heaven. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, PA, on Friday , December 11, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral prayer on Saturday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Albert the Great Church at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Concordia Lutheran Ministries Foundation, 134 Marwood Road, Cabot PA 16023 where the funds will be used for benches around the lake.
