On Wednesday, September 7, 2016, of Whitehall.

Beloved husband of the late Helene David; loving father of John A., Susan (Keith) Sauter and Eric J.; grandfather of Keith, Jr. (Brandy Paul) and Lauren (Jason Dodd) Sauter; great-grandfather of Kaleb; brother of Robert (Joan) David and Richard David. Jack was former owner of Deck the Walls in Century III Mall and previously an employee of Mesta Machine in West Homestead. Jack was a proud member of the US Army, serving in the Korean War. He was also a lover of classical music and an accomplished pianist at home. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Monday from 9-10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Nativity Church at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Animal Friends, 562 Camp Horne Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237. Interment in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with military honors.

    Dear Family Members, I extend deepest sympathy in the passing of my cousin Jack. I have many good memories of him and of Helene at family get-togethers over the years.     Jackie, Susan and Eric, You have my deepest sympathy!!! My fondest memory of him is when we would come over to your house and listen to him play the piano! That was my first experience with classical music and I still enjoy it to this day.
