Obituary For James D. Boyle

September 1, 1940 - September 10, 2014

Boyle, James D. Age 74, on Wednesday, September 10, 2014, of Carrick.

Loving husband of 36 yrs. to Eleanor K. (Weaver, Lober); father of James (Theresa) and the late Dr. Colleen Boyle; brother of Frank and the late Jack Boyle; brother-in-law of Robert (Donna) Weaver and Claire (Julius) Ujhelyi. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Jim was a former 32nd District Adjutant, Allegheny County Adjutant, past Commander and Treasurer and Adjutant for American Legion St. Clair Post #694 and Secretary for the South Side Hilltop Memorial Day Committee. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Rd., Brentwood 15227, Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m where funeral services will be held on Tuesday morning at 11:00.

    Jim was a good friend to my wife and I. She met Jim at First student (formerly) Laidlaw Bus company. and was instrumental in getting me involved with the American Legion post 694. He will be missed as a Friend and Comrade at arms. Sincerely Paul a. & Elizabeth Kehren

    I am very sorry for your loss. I grew up next door to the Boyle's on Desdemona St. I spent a lot of time at their house and as a 4 or 5 year old cried outside the church when Jimmy got married the first time. My little heart was broken. It is with great sadness that I saw that Jimmy had passed away. I was just telling someone this story the other day.
